Supplies Needed to Start Your FBA Business

Did you know that starting an FBA business means paying up front for supplies as well as your product? There are many supplies needed to start your FBA business. 

Youtube and the wider internet make it seem like starting an FBA business is a get rich quick scheme – however, for those who are considering selling on the Fulfilled by Amazon platform, keep in mind that the phrase “you need to spend money to make money” can be true. 

While working with a prep center comes with costs of its own, one benefit is that prep centers are not only knowledgeable about Amazon’s requirements, but they are also stocked up on most, if not all, of the supplies one could possibly need to prep units for sale – trust me, we don’t run out! When working with us, most of these supplies are included in our service plan. 

Here are some supplies needed to start your FBA business: 

• Boxes – new and reusable
• Different sizes of polybags 
• Printer for thermal labels, or full size labels 
• Shipping Labels
• Blank labels

• Tape
• Markers
• Pens
• Box cutter 
• Scissors 

As you can see, you need a lot of supplies to get started as an FBA seller. By working with us, you won’t have to purchase your own supplies (unless you have a special preference and choose to do so). Most of these items are included with the base price for our services, although some (like new boxes) might come with a price. 

We can also source, or store, special supplies that are just for you. For example, if you want to order unique product boxes, stickers, or other branded signifiers, you can purchase those and have them shipped directly to us.  They will be placed on a client supply shelf that is labeled with your name and Client ID Number, and we will only use those supplies for you. 

Keep in mind that while it may seem one way to get around these costs is to have Amazon prep and label your units, we have seen many circumstances in which they labeled units incorrectly, reported impossible overages and underages, or made other odd mistakes.
